When you least expect to run into someone that’s usually when you do! I went to a B&N tonight and low and behold guess who I ran into? Roxanne St. Claire! It makes one wish for a camera. I remember a time when I never left the house without one, but alas I did not have it on me so I have no photos of our meeting.
Roxanne was there signing autographs and promoting her back to back releases: Hunt Her Down and Make Her Pay
. Both of which are a part of the Bullet Catcher series. I got signed copies of each and I can’t wait to snuggle up and read them as the weather is getting decidedly colder every day now.
She is a wonderfully nice woman and we had a great time gabbing between the young local musicians playing nearby in the store. I couldn’t hog her all to myself so after a few minutes I stood aside and listened. People were asking Roxanne a lot of interesting questions while I eavesdropped which I thought I would share. They are paraphrased below:
If you had to pick, which book(s) of the ones you have written is your favorite?
R: Hunt Her Down. Then Make Her Pay.
What is the hardest thing about being an author?
R: Rejections! Definitely the rejections.
From publishers?
R: Agents too. Writing is also very lonely as it is solitary. I would go crazy (my word not hers) without my friends and family.
How many books have you written?
R: 26 in total. Well, 25 that are published; 1 is in the process of getting published.
How long does it take to write a novel?
R: Depends. Some books are very hard agonizing to write. (She points to: Thrill Me to Death) Others are very easy and fly from the fingertips. (Here she points at: Then You Hide
) Others require 19 rewrites. (I forget which one she pointed to here, and I could be wrong about the other books too and if I am Roxanne please correct me!)
What were some of the other questions you got Roxanne? Can you remember?
It was so great to meet you in person!

Keira – so GREAT to meet you. I can’t believe what you absorbed while I was answering questions. Such fun to participate in a musical/school fundraiser where I got to be an author AND a mom.
Nineteen rewrites? Nevah! Well, maybe.
xoxo

I love the Bullet Catcher series. I wonder if they’ll be more Bullet Catcher books.
Hi Roxanne,
For readers who are unfamiliar with your Bullet Catcher series, who are the Bullet Catchers? Are the fictional characters working for the government? BTW, love Fletch’s picture on your website.
