Hi Danielle!
You're too funny! I can appreciate a hunky man who wears kilts. After all, my one & only true love is Sean Connery. (He is all man-even in kilts)
Thank you for sharing your recommendations on Scottish Historical Romances. Kilts that flip up easily; now there's a visual!!! Wheww!! As for K. Moning's books, they're on sale over at my B & N bookstore; will have to scoop one up. :)

Thou shalt give Scottish Historical Romance a try. Better than skin tight breeches are the oh so accessible Kilts! Bonus: they often flip up revealingly at the most awkward and wonderful of times! If you like a little different flavor, try a time travel: Karen Marie Moning's Highlander Series is very yummy Alpha Male reading! But for me nearly any highlander will do as long as he is hot, hunky, and deliciously Alpha!

Hi Bella,

Thanks for your wonderful input. I'll have to look into Mary Balough, the sensual reads are right up my alley.
By the way, you had me at masquerade!
As if Isabel R.'s comments weren't enough; here's a double swoon for your descriptions. (Coats of Superfine stretched across broad shoulders without a wrinkle)
Uh, Oh! Susan falls to the floor gracefully...again.
Quick get the smelling salts! LOL

Isabel you were mentioning tight, soft breeches, hugging the hero's form.
...

...
Uh! Susan fans herself, and falls gracefully to the floor. What just happened? Must check the A/C and my temperature.
In response to your question, yes, I do plan on reading more regencies. Although my TBR pile is multiplying at breakneck speed; I will find the time to do so.

Susan,
There's plenty to love about regencies--the heroes are heavy-lidded, ergo brooding (LOL), wear form-fitting breeches (as mentioned above), coats of Bath Superfine stretched across broad shoulders without a wrinkle...plus they're usually rich, titled...there are balls, routs, fetes, masquerades, Napoleonic Wars...all rich loam for romance to bloom, especially for the fairy tale set.
My fav author in this genre is Marion Chesney--they're accurate and hilarious. For a more sensual read, try Mary Balough.
Come take a spin with your gallant on a chalked floor surrounded by beeswax candles and the fiddling of Neil Gow amidst dark plots by traitors and the low schemes of matchmaking mamas...

Ohh...yum...black leather.
...
...
...
What were you saying? OH! Yes. leather. I mean, er, Regencies! Yes. Regencies. Think of it this way. Tight, soft breeches, hugging the hero's form. Got the mental image? Yes, I'm sure you do! *G*

I'm conducting am mini and very informal survey about Regencies. Now that you've read one, are you going to delve into more?

(Susan waves over the fence at Isabel R.)
I admit, those qualities are very alluring! I also admit that I like empathizing with a non paranormal hero. I even like sassy heroines sans the super powers, but I've had to ease into enjoying a hero in breeches. Got'a admit, those paranormal heroes in black leather are addictive. No?

Susan, Susan, Susan! Welcome to the other side. *eg*

Not that I don't love a good paranormal, not that I don't love a kick ass herone, not that I don't drool over a broody vamp, or sigh over the alpha male defending his mate, but I find those qualities even hotter in a non paranormal.

There's just something about all that in a man when he doesn't have the powers to back him up. Or the smarts of a woman who can't kick ass or read your mind with the best of them. I love how their story works around that and still leaves me wanting more.
