One of the best pieces of advice I got early on was to “calm down and breathe”. I didn’t do most of this kind of thing, but I was so afraid that no one would ever notice me.

That being said, I can’t believe that some people do some of these things. It seems like common sense to me.

“And including cute clip art of bunnies and fairies will not somehow make me like you.” The things people will do to get themselves noticed scare me sometimes.

These are really great tips for writers in general. I particularly like the idea of writing at least a 1000 words a day. I am personally too lazy to follow this and thus am not yet a published writer.

Tip: For those who want feed back on their 1000 words a day (that won’t be published elsewhere) get into some of the writers groups on livejournal.com or publish under the “originals” section of adultfanfiction.net or mediaminer.org.

I can’t believe people really do some of those things. It’s all common sense – why would editors make these rules if they weren’t for a very good reason?! D’oh!

And as for saying my family like my stories… they don’t even know I write them so that one’s out!
