"I HOPE the words come; some days they don’t. Most days, I force it!"

Interesting. Not that I blame you, lol! Do you find the forced words work in the overall scene? Or do you edit those scenes more heavily afterward?

My question is Do you read aloud the dialogue to see if it would be spoken that way?

Hey gang - thanks for stopping by and checking out the interview. Joder, I had to laugh when I read your question - do I have anything left to do before Christmas? OMG. YES. Like, I have NOTHING for my kids yet. I'm having 30 writers here for a Christmas party on Sunday, and I'm ready for that, and I've done my cards....but I still feel woefully behind on everything. December gives me a month-long headache.

Isabel (love that name!) I do hope you'll give my series a chance. The books all stand alone - that was really important to me as a reader. I HATE to pick up series in the middle and feel like I've missed something. I hate to miss the first 5 minutes of a movie - it will bug me for the next 2 hours. So I worked really hard to make each book a complete story, with some recurring characters. You should be able to pick up any Bullet Catcher book and have a very satisfying experience.

As far as my schedule, I write M-F and usually one of the two weekend days. I try to write a scene a day, and that might take four or five hours...or more. Sometimes, when I'm really rockin', I'll do two scenes, but I do write every single day. I am working on another project, not yet sold, so I also get up at 5:45 and write for about an hour and a half on that one. But for the "work day" I write the book I have under contract and deadline. I HOPE the words come; some days they don't. Most days, I force it!

Thanks for the comment!

Bullet Catchers? I'm embarassed to admit I don't know this series. I'm happy to say I'm going to remidy that right now! Wow, this sounds like a great series.

When do you write? I mean do you give yourself a schedule and write 9-5 Monday-Friday or do you write when the words come?

Thanks for answering my question. I'm excited to hear about your new series, but I also hope you'll eventually write another Bullet Catchers book.
