I’d love the prize, but I’m one of the supporting authors. May I ask Love Romance Passion fans to visit the alien romances blog where someone will win 8 books donated by Linnea Sinclair, Jacqueline Lichtenberg, Margaret L Carter, Susan Kearney, Susan Sizemore, and myself Rowena Cherry.

My favorite thing about sfr is that I don’t have to mess with human history, earth geography, or the sex lives and anatomies of real historical personages.

I’m an avid Romance reader and slightly more than occasional SciFi reader. I only very recently discovered SciFiRomace genre books and I’m very interested in reading more. I’ll be crossing my fingers in hopes of a few freebies to help the pocketbook out a little. :)

Also, what an awesome way to publicize these great blogs. There are many that I haven’t ever visited before, enjoying the tour de blogs!

This is pretty general, but I like the mix of adventure and romance in SFR and I’m drawn to plots that deal with the meeting of different cultures.

I love sci fi romance because it allows me to have the best of both worlds. Science fiction is a long time passion of mine because it appeals to my brain. (I’m having my own personal Stargate marathon right now. DVDs are wonderful.) Romance appeals to my mushy little heart that wants the happy ending. Sigh.

Love the chance at winning books :D

I think as far as what plots I like best in SFR’s it has to be the interspecies romance and the SF action in equal measure :D

Please don’t enter me, I’m one of the participating authors, but I wanted to show my support for the event by cheering everyone on.

This is really great, and I’m glad to see so many people enthusiastic about the genre.

My favorite thing about SFR is the freedom to create cultures and conflicts without the constraints of preconceived notions. I can start from scratch. I also love creating cute alien critters and have fun with alien costume design.

This looks great. I haven’t tried her yet. I love the combination of adventure, imagination and a romance with strong female characters that don’t try to “out man the men”.

I am traditionally a historical romance genre fan, but I would love the opportunity to get acquainted with this area of romance! Sign me up for SFR Holiday Blitz!

As far as science fiction I have only read “traditional” books and not any of the romance oriented ones. I love Stirling and Cherryh books!

I love SFR – my favorites are Linnea Sinclair, Ann Aguirre, Susan Grant, Patti O’Shea and Susan Kearney. Since I haven’t had a chance to read any of Nathalie Gray’s books, it would be great to get a chance to add her to my must read SFR authors.

The ability to immerse myself in far away worlds…the unlimited possibilities that exceed time and space. I’m a huge fan of stories that take place in space ships and multiple planets where the hero/heroine (can be human or other species or a mix) have to battle evil and end up triumphing in both love and war *as cliched as that may sound; I happen to adore the scenario.*

There are so many sci-fi romance authors whom I adore and follow…Kaitlyn O’Connor, Madeleine Montague, Michelle Marquis, Rowena Cherry, Linda Mooney, Jaid Black, Angela Knight, Jan Springer, Dawn Ryder, Madison Hayes, Charlotte Boyett-Compo, Amon Bieste, Trista Ann Michaels, Bonnie Rose Leigh, Annabel Wolfe, Jez Morrow, Leigh Wyndfield, Lara Santiago, Liz Craven, Jade Buchanan, Celia Kyle, Robin L. Rotham, Belinda McBride, Loribelle Hunt, Shay Lacy, Lynn Sterling and so many many more. It’s hard to list them all…but I think I’ve put a fair dent on my list…LOL

Happy Holidays

What do you love best about Science Fiction Romance?
Hmm, I think my favorite aspect would be how the adventure of travel through the wide expanse of galaxies or unknown territories mirrors the exploration of the characters unexplored internal realms. It’s in these great military/physical tests of endurance, the people themselves test and learn the boundaries of their emotional interiors and when you throw romance into the mix – hot damn! That make for some spectacular storytelling!

What’s your favorite plot in sci-fi romance? Anything. I’m willing to go anywhere, any way, as long as the author gives me compelling characters and story.

Who is your favorite SFR author? Oooo – that’s so difficult because I love so many! I’ll give a short list of those I can easily remember at for in the morning: Jordan Summers, Marianne Mancusi, Eve Kenin, Joanna Wylde, Liz Maverick, Madison Hayes, Allyson James, Zannie Adams, Charlotte Boyett-Compo, Devon Summer, Colby Hodge, and Nalini Singh.

SFR Holiday Blitz!

Let’s see, what do I like in SFR? I’ve always loved hard SF and like how the Romance aspect rounds the stories out for me.

Favorite SFR plot: I’m pretty open plot-wise. I do like the SFRs that tend more toward the hard SF. Love the tech, the worldbuilding and the aliens. Love the spacecraft and new planets and politics too.

Favorite SFR authors? Catherine Asaro, Linnea Sinclair, Lois McMaster Bujold (Shards of Honor/Barrayar are my favorite SFR books), SL Viehl, CJ Barry, lots of others really.

Favorite? Hands down: Linnea Sinclair, though Rowena Cherry is right on her heels. I love Linnea’s high octane action and the romance is always sigh worthy. Ranking her books is even harder, but GAMES OF COMMAND, FINDERS KEEPERS, and ACCIDENTAL GODDESS jostle for top spot. And don’t get me started on Rowena’s LOL stories. Oh my.

So glad to see this contest shining a bright light on a genre that I love to read and write! Thanks!

I’m a geek for sci-fi. Have been as long as I can remember. I started reading at the age of 6 and sci-fi was always my genre of choice. At the age of 9 I started reading romance. The fact that there is a whole “sub-genre” that blends both is just beyond awesome. Growing up I don’t remember reading a single romance that had a sci-fi setting, though there were some sci-fi/fantasy books that had more than a little romance in them. I love that these days you can very easily find SFR.
