I went website and logo design hunting today because I've been itching for a more professional feel to the blog for a while. By the end of the day after submitting quite a few queries for quotes I got inspired. As much as I am sure we all loved the fun, 70s hairstyle, girl reading with hero holding her it was time for a change.

So using a new trick I learned not too long ago in Photoshop, I created Kiki, the digital version of myself. In the process I think I might just have saved myself a whole lot of money too - it's better than Geico! lol Obviously you can see the new look by glancing up to the top of the page, but for the sake of prosperity here it is again:

Not only did I make a new banner, but I created a small icon for comment use and updated my twitter account. See how it looks:

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty darn excited!
For those who wanted to know the trick it's shape creation. My little Kiki is saved on my Photoshop as a shape; I can make her large, tiny, wide, tall, and when I let go of the mouse she's instantly created with nary a pixel in sight. To do this yourself simply make a shape then in Photoshop with the shape still selected go to Edit and Define Custom Shape. Give your shape a name and save it and it'll be there for use as long as you don't delete it from your Photoshop files or change computers. Yay!
