A lot gets crunched into Alien Mate, which is a very quick read about an earthling being abducted by a blue alien. Langlais runs a very tight ship and keeps things neat and clean when it comes to her world universe building.

Kor is one of the lucky ones chosen for mating on his home planet. He’s given coordinates by the spirits of his ancestors to find her. She’s on planet earth, like so many have been in the past so he thinks nothing of it, until he finds out that Diana is not the biddable mate he asked for.

Diana is a woman just out of a relationship with some loser who hid her plus-size self from his friends. When a hunky naked blue alien shows up in the middle of her living room she thinks she’s dreaming, but it’s not so funny waking up halfway across the galaxy. Kor may be gorgeous but he’s way too domineering and his home-world is entirely too patriarchal. Where’s women’s lib?

Kil – the sickly green and yellow brother of Kor appeared out of the blue, pardon the pun, in the middle of the novel. I was pretty thrown until some things were revealed in the wrap up at the end that proved he was more a part of the novel than I originally believed.

Most Interesting World Building Fact: Anybody, Third Moon clan or Earthling or other that looks humanoid descended from the same group of colonizing ancestors known simply as the super race.

Favorite inventions: The Culinary 6000—no more cooking ever to achieve quality meals—and the dishwasher drawer, you’ll never have to clean up again. That’s the best fantasy fulfillment I can think of!

Cutest Reference: “Jane Jetson eat your heart out—”

Recommended for those who thought the Na’vi from Avatar were pretty, because the Third Moon clan is blue, blue, blue and humanoid. :)

I’m marking Alien Mate as interracial – but it’s really interspecies.

Keira's favorite type of heroes are blind, scarred, and tortured... yes, she understands those should be separate, but all 3 at once is also nice! She enjoys historical romances best and adores audio books because great narrators turn books into auditory/mental movies (and she loves her romantic dramas like Pride and Prejudice/North and South!)
