*Marie Ferrarella also goes by the name Marie Nicole.

Capturing the Millionaire looked to be a good romance, but I found it too tame. I kept waiting for sparks, arguments, sexy banter, titillating sex, something, anything to make it memorable. Did it meet any of those? Nope. Nada. Very boring.

Kayla McKenna is a veterinarian who rescues abused and abandoned German shepherds. Once the victim of an emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend, Kayla is determined never to let a man walk all over her again. She will be strong and self-reliant. She will love her dogs and find comfort in them instead of the male gender.

When her dogs find Alain Dulac and his car wrapped in a tree, she rescues him too. He’s an attorney like her ex and not overly concerned with justice so long as he wins. It’s too bad really because he’s way cute and Winchester, her most recently abused addition takes quite a shine to him.

Stranded in the middle of nowhere, Alain can’t wait to get back to reality. He has a case to win, a firm to save, a career ladder to climb… there’s no room in his life for a relationship or a half a dozen dogs. If only the rain would quit, the power come back on, and the phone lines return then he could get out of here!

Keira's favorite type of heroes are blind, scarred, and tortured... yes, she understands those should be separate, but all 3 at once is also nice! She enjoys historical romances best and adores audio books because great narrators turn books into auditory/mental movies (and she loves her romantic dramas like Pride and Prejudice/North and South!) I haven’t read this one, but I did read one of Marie Ferrarella’s books and two things amused the heck out of me: First, that they’re set in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (although in that one, the hero came from the *big* city: Buffalo, NY!) and second, her delightful faith that lawyers are millionaires, when they so rarely are at the ages (and physiques) that would also qualify them as romantic heroes. By the time RL lawyers are millionaires, they’re distinctly middle aged!

I believe part of his wealth was inherited. His mom, the artist (cough), made huge bucks with her work.
