Deep, Dark, Delicious is a concise erotica romance. It’s a quick read and starts right at the good stuff.

I would have personally liked to read more about them fighting their attraction during the show and contest.

The character development is pretty solid if a tad rushed. We learn real quickly about the heroine’s insecurities and commitment issues because of her mother. It’s a refreshing change to the traditional commitment phobic hero.

The sex was smoking hot. I loved the use of ‘needy’ however and ‘plump.’ Yum.

However, there were a few things that pulled me out of the moment – mostly some words that drew unflattering attention to the animalistic side of it instead of the romantic side.

The heroine labeled parts of the act such as her noises as ‘crude’ or ‘vulgar.’ Not all the time, mind you, but often enough to notice. It was odd for me because sex with the right person (in my mind) shouldn’t have those labels attached even if it’s kinky sex.

Foodies will enjoy the encounter on the dining room table with all the little appetizers. It’s sizzling.

The BDSM is light and fun.

Eden DeCarlo is in desperate need of funds. Her grandmother’s house (now hers) could be foreclosed upon because her business shut down during the economic crisis. Her one hope was winning a best chef competition and getting the prize money. She loses in the last round because of Rafael Zayas’ commentary.

Rafael knows she’s great and easily one of the best, but she plays it safe and doesn’t take risks. He however, is more than capable of taking a risk. He offers her a deal she can’t refuse. Sex and some rest and relaxation is just what he needs, but only if it’s with her. Thirty days of mind numbing spine tingling sex ought to be enough time to gain her trust and her love.

Keira's favorite type of heroes are blind, scarred, and tortured... yes, she understands those should be separate, but all 3 at once is also nice! She enjoys historical romances best and adores audio books because great narrators turn books into auditory/mental movies (and she loves her romantic dramas like Pride and Prejudice/North and South!)
