Farm Fatale is a chick-lit novel set in the British countryside where two London couples relocate in an attempt to find more to life.
One couple is that couple you love to hate. Both persons in the relationship are just hideous people. The woman, Samantha, is a self-centered, egotistic, talentless nobody with delusions of fame. Her husband, Guy, is a weak pushover who thinks with his dick and cheats whenever he can (I assume because divorcing from a loveless marriage would cost him too much in alimony.) Both are snobby rich yuppies with no idea how to act with any sense of tact or respect. I wanted to wring their necks. I could not stand them at all and it was a struggle to read their part of the story.
The other couple features the heroine, Rosie, and her crabbypants boyfriend, Mark. She’s tired of the city and wants to move to the country for a change of perspective. She finds that her career as an independent illustrator takes a nosedive when she’s not in the city. Her boyfriend gets even more crabbier and obstinate as he struggles to write a weekly column for his newspaper about country living. All his articles are rejected repeatedly which is a huge source of frustration and bitterness. Mark ignores all of Rosie’s good suggestions and basically tells her she’s an idiot and the column is his and his alone.
Rosie is the only sane decent person in the whole mess!
The countryside which was supposed to help cement their lives, ends up destroying both couples. This is not necessarily a bad thing as it paves the way for two other possible love interests in Rosie’s life. The first is a divorced farmer, struggling to keep his farm afloat. The other is a reclusive rockstar struggling to write his next album. Which one will win the heart of the fair lady?

Keira's favorite type of heroes are blind, scarred, and tortured... yes, she understands those should be separate, but all 3 at once is also nice! She enjoys historical romances best and adores audio books because great narrators turn books into auditory/mental movies (and she loves her romantic dramas like Pride and Prejudice/North and South!)
