Prince Shahir bin Harith al-Assad spies Kirsten Ross outside his limo on the way to his holding Strathcraig Castle. He’s drawn to her immediately and considers pursuing her until he finds out she’s a domestic who works for him. His morals would never allow him to compromise a person under his employ. He’s also fairly certain she’s a virgin and that too is a no-no. Innocents and Shahir do not mix.

Or so he thinks.

Several things occur in a short span of time. It gets really crammed and would have worked better in a longer story I feel because it would have been more character and emotion driven than what it was.

Right after Shahir nearly runs Kirsten and her dog over with his bike, Lady Pamela takes up residence at the castle to help Shahir throw together a party and of course to claim him as hers. She'll do anything to get him even ruining innocent young ladies in the process. The standard evil other woman plot.

Then Kirsten’s father hits her. Which of course leads Kirsten and Shahir to have sex – which Shahir blames himself for because he looked for excuses to find her more approachable and accessible (ie he listened to malicious gossip spread by Lady Pamela because it was convenient). Soon after the whole debacle, Kirsten is labeled a thief and she runs away to escape Shahir and her father. Insert one secret baby, 7 months estrangement, and Shahir coming back into the picture persuading Kirsten into marriage.

Don't forget Faria – the woman he thinks he loves! Kirsten, though beautiful is ignorant of her beauty. She doesn't think she could ever compete with Faria. When Shahir realizes his past love was really infatuation he's got to work hard and fast to prove his love for Kirsten.

Keira's favorite type of heroes are blind, scarred, and tortured... yes, she understands those should be separate, but all 3 at once is also nice! She enjoys historical romances best and adores audio books because great narrators turn books into auditory/mental movies (and she loves her romantic dramas like Pride and Prejudice/North and South!)
