If you ask an Australian woman if Australian men are romantic, most would probably die laughing… but perhaps that’s being a little harsh! For years, Aussie women have been drawn overseas to get their ‘romantic men fix’ through movies and books but I have to say, I think Aussie men have lifted their game a bit, there’s been an influx of hot Australian men in lead roles in Hollywood and now, I’m happy to say, also in fiction.
Now, I’m not sure Aussie men will ever be classed as romantic in the true sense of the word… not like when you think of men from other parts of the world, like ohh la la France or maybe some Italian Stallion action, but I think Aussie men have a charm all of their own and hopefully, I can help spread the word!
What is an Aussie man? Well, he’s a man of few words (unless inebriated) he’s a hard worker (unless there’s a game of cricket or football on TV) he’s rugged and manly (no metrosexual types around here!) he’s hung like a horse (ok, I may have made that last one up!)
Okay, Okay, okay I know not all Australian men are like this, yes, we have our big city, high flying, business men and entrepreneurs, who wear suits and ties to work and sail their yacht on weekends… but for the sake of a hero, in my books... they’re more of the rugged and less of the metro, persuasion.
Meet Jake Holden, hero of my novel Fallout. He’s ex Army, and at a cross roads in his life.
Fallout Blurb:
Risking their lives for others is second nature, but can they trust each other enough to risk their hearts?
Tully Chambers is no damsel in distress. An up and coming Detective, she had her sights set on promotion until the day her partner was murdered and she ended up on the run from the mob.
Jake Holden has demons of his own. Having served his country for over twenty years, he’s found himself wounded, alone, and without a plan for his future. What starts as a simple diversion—figuring out the feisty little waitress next door—turns out to be his most dangerous mission yet.
From the tropics of Far North Queensland to the rugged interior of Northern Territory in Australia, two modern-day warriors discover their greatest fear isn’t that of a madman’s revenge–but of laying their hearts on the line for love.
So think, Chris Hemsworth, Russell Crowe (we share him with New Zealand) and Sam Worthington (is getting hot in here or is it just me?) you get the picture…these are the faces of Australian men in all their glory—so if you haven’t already, give an Aussie romance a try—I promise you won’t regret it!
