Great excerpt! Sounds like another good story.

A strong woman who earns more than her man is OK by me. But I have to admit, I'm not crazy about a hero who's a stay-at-home dad while the woman goes off to work. Depends on how it's written, I suppose, but I guess I'm old school. The idea of taking care of a man doesn't appeal much.

I have read one female bodyguard story: Guarding His Body by A.C. Arthur. The female's an ex-marine. I thought she could have pushed the envelope a little more with the bodyguard story, but I loved it. It's still on my shelf!

Thanks, Joye, good to know. I'll look out for the book...now I just to get to that movie. Going to be interesting to see Richard Gere as I re-watched An Officer and a Gentleman not so long ago. As Zac Mayo he was so young!

LOL...Andrea, one of the qualities I most admire in a heroine is honest. Reminds me of Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice...

So who is your favorite heroine?

You know Maureen, I have to watch more top chef. I have a son who loves watching food tv...and he's pretty much got me hooked too. Very relaxing!

And yes I agree with you about the notion that career women are often considered bad moms. And they often feel guilty about that themselves. Glad you like the idea of a stay at home dad, too!

Hi Tessa,
I think it will be some time before we see a stay at home Dad as a hero but I would love to see it. It's tough for women because women who make their career a priority are considered bad moms but hopefully that will change over time. I do enjoy a strong female in a story and I liked your excerpt and like the heroine being a chef since I have been watching Top Chef.

"Or is he that super sexy and confident I can do anything you can do better kind of guy…including staying at home?"

Yes. That. I love this Danielle. And she's got the big powerful career...he's got the strong sense of self, but their financial roles are turned around. Of course he'd still have to be a wealthy man. But maybe he's always wanted that child...

Hey, you'd make a great editor. LOL. Can't you see the ideas sparking?
