WWJAD is quick fun read. The story is flirty and cute just like the hero, Lord James Shermont. Read it in the bathtub, on the beach, while waiting in line at the post office, wherever, it’s sure to make you smile and leave you eager to turn the page.
Eleanor Pottinger (yes it is unfortunate that is her real last name) is a fan of Jane Austen. We meet her trying to get a room at a Jane Austen convention only to be told the room she booked has been given to somebody else. Luckily there was a newly renovated suite that was available…if she didn’t mind ghosts!
Of course Eleanor changes her mind about ghosts the minute they materialize. Sisters Deidre and Mina from the time of Jane Austen need Eleanor’s help. They are stuck as ghosts and can’t move on without her help. Eleanor jokingly offers to help if they can guarantee she can meet Jane Austen. They agree and before Eleanor can cry “Just Kidding!” Deidre and Mina have transported Eleanor back into the past.
When Eleanor wakes up she is stuck in the Regency era and is believed to be the girls’ widowed cousin Ellen who was arriving from America. Eleanor plays along and gets away with it because they haven’t seen the real Ellen since childhood. The ghosts tell Eleanor her tasks are to keep them out of the clutches of Lord Shermont, a rakehell of the worst sort, and to make sure their brother, Teddy, doesn’t enter into a duel with Shermont over their reputations.
Eleanor was once foolish enough to try and make a Mr. Darcy out of a Wickham, is she smart enough not to do the opposite? What would Jane Austen do?
I don’t know about you, but my first romance was in my early teens. I’m fairly certain it was Gamble by LaVyrle Spencer as it’s the earliest I can remember reading.
My first romance couple was the same as Kat’s. Can you guess who? Several readers might also have encountered this couple first too. Hint: from the Nancy Drew mystery series. Nancy Drew and Ned Nickerson forever!
Now what about you? What was your first romance novel? Was it category? Single title? Did it make it to your favorites? Is it still one of your favorites?
This was a very sweet storyline, but there are some flaws. Amery writes a light humorous story. She's dead funny on BOBs and teenage girl crushes.
Jake is a former Broadway star. He's one of New York's up-and-coming directors. Legions of fan girls inspired that career sidestep, allowing Jake to enjoy the theater but without the scary mob. This weekend, he's back home participating in a egad... bachelor auction all for his best friend's little sister.
When Jake spies his high school ex waving her paddle, he knows he's doomed. A beautiful blond in the back is his only chance. By only chance, I mean, the only option he finds acceptable. Mouthing the words, "Help me," at her, Jake is relieved when she enters the bid war.
Sophie feels her blood shimmer at those words. She can hardly believe it, Jake was her high school crush, getting him to help out at the event was a feat but this... this could be the coup of a lifetime. Now if she could get him to break that no relationship rule...
Overall, I felt it could use more polish as there were several parts where I felt I was observing far above the scene instead of being a part of the scene. Does that make sense? Kind of like watching yourself dream, a bit out of body, not quite grounded in the tale. I wanted more sticky in the writing, something that would grab me and hold me in the moment.
Have you contacted your co-star in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix—Robert Pattinson—to give him any advice about his own sudden fame because of the Twilight films? He was once quoted as saying that if given a choice between himself and you, that girls would choose you every time.
I don’t have his number, so haven’t spoken to him. But I can safely say that his insisting that girls would choose me over him that they would not. That they do not. He is the much prettier and can be much more charming. And he can do that thing of being sultry and sexy.
You’re sexy, Daniel. Come on. Own it.
I can’t!
Yet in Equus you have a nude scene eight times a week. You’re flashing around your Elder Wand for all the world to see.
But I don’t know how to be sexy. Rob can just sort of stand there and look at something and start to smolder. And I just can’t do that. I’m a natural fidget.

If you follow me on Twitter you may remember when I pointed out that things were getting pretty hairy for Taylor Lautner of Twilight who played Jacob Black in the first movie. There was some discussion and debate over if he would be allowed to continue on as Jacob in New Moon.
As Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter of Twilight and New Moon, said, "Jacob is a totally different character in New Moon. He's a foot taller and huge — and he's supposed to look 25. It's really a question of whether or not the same actor can play the role." Rosenberg also noted, ''He has to play a romantic lead against Rob, who's a 22 year old man. That's a tall order.''
It will indeed be a tall order to fill. Jacob has to look like walking talking temptation in his human form and if you've seen Lautner, you know he can play the younger Jacob easily. His face is smooth, young, he looks like a teenage boy. But can he play a 25 year old looking Jacob Black?
There has been division within Team Jacob about Lautner's ability to portray Jacob. If you remember, I mentioned in my review of Twilight how many girls switched loyalties to Team Edward because they didn't think Lautner was appealing or worthy of the part as Bella's other romantic option.
As rumors go Steven Strait and Michael Copon were once thought to be making bids of their own to become New Moon's Jacob. Both look like they could pull off the part, but in the end the rumors were unsubstantiated.
About a week ago Summit Entertainment announced officially that Lautner will continue on as Jacob Black in New Moon. So how is he going to bulk up, grow taller, and lose the rounded baby face for a more rugged, sharp cheekbones, look? I don't know, but we'll find out.
