Time is the most undefinable yet paradoxical of things; the past is gone, the future is not come, and the present becomes the past even while we attempt to define it, and, like the flash of lightning, at once exists and expires. ~ Charles Caleb Colton

Who forces time is pushed back by time; who yields to time finds time on his side. ~ The Talmud

If we take care of the moments, the years will take care of themselves. ~ Maria Edgeworth, O Magazine, April 2004

Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely. ~ Rodin (1840 - 1917)

For disappearing acts, it's hard to beat what happens to the eight hours supposedly left after eight of sleep and eight of work. ~ Doug Larson

While writing my unorthodox time travel romance ERIS, I was reminded of what Piers Anthony said in his author's note for BEARING AN HOURGLASS (I absolutely love the Incarnation Series). He said "...since this novel features Time, it was time that bedeviled me this time." I thought that was cute when I read it so many years ago. Now, after writing my first time travel romance (unorthodox or not), I completely understand.

ERIS was a little over a year and a half in the making. I started November 2007 and finished May 2009. It's not that it took me that long to write the book. If I was to define the actual writing time, I'd say it only took three to six months. But, the second I started writing it in Nov 2007, Time started screwing with me.

Every time I turned around, another month had gone by and I couldn't name one thing I had accomplished. That was pretty much my entire 2009. I never meant to have such a huge gap between my Multiverse novels and yet, here it is.

Still, when 27 May 2009 rolled around and I announced to my blog and my Yahoo group that I had finished, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming.

You're probably wondering why I keep calling ERIS an unorthodox time travel. Well, any time travel romance fan will tell you that a good time travel has the heroine back in time by chapter three at the very latest. Right? Right. Well... ERIS doesn't follow that particular convention.

Why not? Because Eris (the heroine is the also the name of the book) meets Lucien and Ranulf in the present before meeting them in the past. Unorthodox, right? It is, and it's a little convoluted. I wouldn't have it any other way. In fact, I can't have it any other way. I think I'm incapable of doing something unless it is convoluted. That would also account for the length of time it took me to write the book.

I don't regret any of it. ERIS was a lot of fun to write. I enjoyed Lucien and Ranulf immensely and hope that others will too.

Time is on their side and they can be together, assuming the truth doesn't ruin everything first.

Immortals born in the thirteenth century, Lucien Riordan and Ranulf Styr have waited centuries to be reunited with their love. Want for her cemented their friendship through time even as it tore it apart. She changed their lives, made them want better, and they plan to show her that. There’s only one catch—she’s never met them before.

Eris Brue is flattered by Lucien and Ranulf’s attention but they are her bosses. She doesn’t want to get tangled up in an office romance, especially not with two men. Their joint seduction overcomes her resolve and she gives in even though she knows they are keeping secrets that could doom their relationship.

Centuries of planning have finally come to fruition. Lucien and Ranulf have a short amount of time to make Eris love them, because once time has her, everything could come to an end.
