What do you think about, when someone mentions the term Halloween? We usually conjure thoughts of haunted houses, scary costumes, and lots of candy. Now what if you were to intermingle scary with romance, what comes to mind? We think about paranormals, exactly!

I find paranormal romances have an appeal, to which I’m powerless to resist. Here is what I consider my top 10 best paranormal romances. These are books, which I refuse to part with. If you’ve read any from my list, feel free to post a “boo.” Any readers who’d like to add your own paranormals to my list; please do. It would be wonderful to hear suggestions to add to my TBR/TBB list. Here’s my list, grab some candy corn, and enjoy!

Best Paranormal Romance # 1 Goddess of Spring by P.C. Cast
Reason: Magic, Mythology, and I guarantee you’ll fall in love with Hades.

Best Paranormal Romance # 2 The Darkest Kiss by Gena Showalter
Reason: (Lucien) Lord of the Underworld/possessed by the demon of death, meets (Anya) Goddess of Anarchy. Can you imagine the chaos, when these two get together?

Best Paranormal Romance # 3 The Keeper of Eternity by Devyn Quinn
Reason: Scarred heroine (Julienne) meets HAH drunken S-O-B named Morgan Saint-Evanston. He’s my favorite hero and Devyn knows it!

Best Paranormal Romance # 4 The Price of Eternity by Devyn Quinn
Reason: Something will happen that will change Julienne and Morgan’s lives forever.

Best Paranormal Romance # 5 Devil May Cry by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Reason: Sin was an ancient Sumerian god of fertility. Kat has a family you do not want to cross. Her father (Ash) is the Harbinger, her mother is (Artemis) a selfish goddess of the hunt, and chastity, while her grandmother (Apollymi) has the power to destroy all of humanity. What happens when Sin wants revenge on Kat’s family? Oooo…trouble!

Best Paranormal Romance # 6 Awaiting the Moon by Donna Lea Simpson
Reason: Werewolves, Counts, and steamy sex, oh my! I love Count Nikolas von Wolfram.

Best Paranormal Romance # 7 Playing with Fire by Gena Showalter
Reason: A heroine who controls the elements, and a hero who’s a real animal.

Best Paranormal Romance # 8 The Rogue Hunter by Lynsay Sands
Reason: Garrett Mortimer is an 800 year old vampire bachelor. He meets his neighbor Samantha, and what does he think of her? Thinks she’s clumsy and spastic!

Best Paranormal Romance # 9 Possession by Devyn Quinn
Reason: I gave it a five star review. Contains a book written by the devil, a demon of revelation, and sinful pleasures. Kendra’s precognition in the bathroom will chill your blood.

Best Paranormal Romance # 10 Midnight Desire by Emma Holly
Contains Catching Midnight novel & Luisa’s Desire novella.

Reason: Catching Midnight- We meet the Upyr (part wolves, part blood-drinking immortals) Gillian takes the form of a falcon & is caught by a falconer named Aimery. What will he do with her, once she’s caught?

Luisa’s Desire- Will Martin resist a temptation named Luisa?

Wow, great list! I snatched Donna Lea Simpson off of it to give a try. Love werewolves and steamy sex and hadn’t heard of this author. I’ve read just about everyone else on the list! Thanks…

I haven’t read many of these either and I like how you have a very different type of list out there than the norm. I’m with Mandi. Must reads are Ward, Sing, Ione.

Cybercliper how are you?
Thanks for your “boo.” Just wait until you read Donna Lea Simpson’s “Awaiting the Moon,” steamy sex is right. She had me howling at the moon, I’ll tell you that. Love her Awaiting series, sure hope she decides to continue writing them. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks KB for your comments, I’ve added the authors you’ve mentioned to my TBR list. I sure hope King Mho Fho gets lots of candy tomorrow. Please tell him to stay away from fruit. He loses control around fruit for some reason. (LOL)

Hi Erotic Horizon,

I must say, after seeing the cover of “Heart Change” I agree with you wholeheartedly. I’ll have to start with book one “Heart Mate” I suppose. Thanks for your suggestion. Have a spooktacular weekend, and thank you for your “boo.”

I have to agree with Mandi’s original post. JR. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series is a fabulous example of the paranormal romance genre done well. The Black Dagger Brotherhood boasts irresistibly desirable heroes in all of the members of the brotherhood, from Wrath the devoted leader, to Zsadist the self deprecating bad boy. It is definitely a series worth reviewing!

I also have to say that I am a huge fan of Larissa Ione’s Demonica series. The tales that she spins around all of her sexy immortals from demons to vampires and werewolves keep you turning the pages, wanting more.

I was however, very pleased to see the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter on your list. The series is a fantastic read. There are so many great elements in each story that gracefully intertwine with the other books. Who knew such guilt pleasure could be found in opening Pandora’s box? Kudos!

Love your list! Have read some of those! Glad you included Emma Holly. She has some awesome characters and stories. I don’t have a Top 10, but here are a few of my fave series! (In no particular order!)

Fever series by Karen Marie Moning (The 5th & final book in the series comes out in mid-January. OK — I guess this is my current fave! How can you not wonder what happens to Mac and Barrons!)

Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs

Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole (wicked sense of humor! Strong hero dudes and even stronger heroines!)

Wake trilogy by Lisa McMann

Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy

The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris (although I’m getting a little burned out on the story here because it’s gone on for so long!)

I also like the first few books in the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton — but just the first 5 — after that it goes downhill for me!

@ Maritza I’m always willing to fall for a hero, thanks! Loved your suggestions.

@Mandy I kid you not, JR Ward is on the “tip” of my TBR list BECAUSE I’ve heard so much about Lover Awakened and Covet.

@ Diana Sorry. I’ve been under a rock apparently. Better a late response than none-at-all. Response: AWESOME! And for some odd reason–I’ve never read any off your list. Copying and pasting your list onto my TBR list. Thanks.
