I know I’m generalizing, but I think it’s safe to assume hordes of the human population can’t resist the allure of a uniform. The most frequently talked about are: police officers, firefighters, U.P.S. drivers, and military soldiers. I’m going to take this opportunity to talk about the men/women in blue. Those heroes or heroines that for some reason or other drew me into the novel and cuffed me. Well, not literally of course, more figuratively.

Here’s what I consider my top 10 best police romances. Yes, I’m quite aware some of these are novels in different sub-genres, and some include paranormal characters. Yet, the main characters are police officers, detectives, or FBI agents. If they’re in law enforcement, and I liked it-it’s on this list. Readers, if there’s something I enjoy, its suggestions. I have at least three enablers, which always have me updating my TBR/TBB lists on a regular basis. So, if you’d like to chime in, please do! What police romances have you hearing sirens?

Grab your coffee and donuts, here’s my top 10 list of great police romances.

Best Police Romances:

  1. Men In Blue anthology with authors Devyn Quinn, Myla Jackson, and Delta Dupree.
    Reason:
Three scorching reads about hot cops. Did I mention scorching? I did already, oh o.k. Just the first two pages of Devyn’s The Hard Way will make you keep reading in a bad way. Myla’s and Delta’s stories will burn your fingers. Readers beware!
  2. Dance upon the Air by Nora Roberts.
Reason: Sheriff Zach Todd is one hot sheriff! He’s friendly, has great manners, serves and protects.
  3. Embracing Midnight by Devyn Quinn.
    Reason:
Undercover FBI agent Callie Whitten is a strong heroine with a weakness for hot vampires. (This is a dark read, read my review regarding content.)
  4. Heaven and Earth by Nora Roberts.
Reason: Heroine is a Sheriff’s deputy. Ripley Todd is a woman with great abs and a toned body. She’s also a witch with one mean temper!
  5. Legend of the White Wolf by Terry Spear.
Reason: Cameron MacPherson is a sexy detective with a bite! He also knows how to make a first impression, evil grin.
  6. Dead Again by Tracy Cooper-Posey.
Reason: Jack Laubreaux is tall, dark-haired and sexy. I’ll plead the fifth, since I can’t give the plot away!
  7. Agent -in- Charge by Leigh Riker.
    Reason:
Undercover agent Graham Warren will have you wanting an agent of your own. I’ve re-read this romantic suspense several times. If you like RS, you should check it out.
  8. Tempt Me Again by Wendy Etherington.
Reason: I had picked this one up because of the cover and found I quite enjoyed Etherington’s writing. This is a cute read with a HEA; you’ll fall head over heels for Sheriff Tyler. What I enjoyed most from this novel was the friendship between Sloan and Andrea.
  9. Branded By The Sheriff by Delores Fossen.
Reason: Sheriff Beck Tanner. This was given to me by a friend; it has an ending every romance reader wants. (Of course, it’s a happy ending!)
  10. Behind the Shield by Sheryl Lynn.
    Reason:
Chief of Police Carson Cody should hate Madeline. These two should never have met considering their painful pasts. It’s a touching story of forgiveness.

What about Open Season by Linda Howard. Good crime story + terrific heroine – Daisy and one oh so hot sheriff – Jack. My favourite LH book.

Infogenium, I’ve never read Open Season. You had me at hot sheriff by the way. I just added it to my TBB/TBR list. Actually…it looks like a great summer read, thanks for the suggestion. :)

I’ve got to check these books out. The only one of the list that I’ve read is “Dance Upon the Air.” I’m a big fan of Julie Miller’s Precinct books and they’re full of hot cops.

Hi Jane, I want to read Julie’s Armed and Dangerous. She’s got some great cover gods, don’t ya think? Thanks for mentioning Miller. :)

Yes, I know it’s been months, but on the off chance that infogenium pops in again, I wanted to say thanks. I bought Open Season and keep it in my car. Reading when I can spare the time, or before appts, etc. I’m now on page 131 and love Linda Howard. The part where Daisy’s giving Jack the gay test-is absolutely hilarious!
