Guest blog by Barry Eva, author of The Bathroom Book of Romance
There have been a few question posted to me about my new E-Book “The Bathroom Book of Romance”, which is the first in a series of books of short romance stories.
“Why the name The Bathroom Book of Romance”?
The stories take five to ten minutes to read, when the reader gets a short period of peace and quiet, perhaps when they sit down with a cup of tea or coffee, or in some cases, especially when you might have young children (who gets peace and quiet then ;)) the only sanctum of tranquility might well be the bathroom.
Some readers have also questioned why there are small boxes of tissues next to some stories?
The reason goes back to their when they were first created. These “short enough to be read while drinking a cup of coffee, yet long enough to bring a smile to your heart” stories have been written over a number of years, to start with just on the internet where they picked up quite a following, people emailing etc asking to be added to the distribution list for when I wrote a fresh story.
One day I received an email from a lady in Toronto about my latest story (I think it was “The Radio Show”).
She stated that basically I had got her into trouble. She had printed off the story to read on the subway on her way to work. She wrote that when she’d finally got to work, her face was tear-stained and her smudged makeup made her look like a giant panda.
“You’ve done it again” she wrote, “please can you let the reader know when the story is such a weepy”
So following the request and receiving somewhat of the same feedback from other readers, I took advice from government health warnings and put the box of tissues next to those titles that I think might damage a reader’s makeup.
Author Bio: Born in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England, Barry left his beloved England in 2000, moving to the USA. Under the name “Storyheart” he released his best selling YA novel “Across the Pond” which currently has over 100 reviews on Amazon.
Barry is also well known as the host of the popular radio show “A Book and a Chat” with over 450 shows under his belt. Popular for narrating his stories on local TV or as a guest on other media stations, Barry’s whit, oratory, and old-fashioned English charm make him a popular interviewee.
